The district magistrate (DM) of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, has reportedly issued an order to declare tomorrow, January 24, as a vacation for pupils up to Class 8. This decision is made in light of the growing cold wave conditions in the area. Classes 9 through 12 will resume on January 25. The school day will be rearranged to run from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM during this time. Due to the excessive cold, local media sources state that the holiday in Agra schools has been extended to Class 8 of the UP Board, CBSE, and other boards.
The DM has ordered that online courses be implemented in Lucknow schools through January 27. Furthermore, guidelines for installing room heaters in classrooms have been released. For any questions regarding school closures and holidays, students and parents residing in any district of Uttar Pradesh are encouraged to contact the administration of their individual schools. At 5:30 AM on Monday, the India Meteorological Department reported severe to very dense fog in a few isolated areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
For the next four to five days, chilly to extremely cold day weather are predicted for the North India region, according to IMD. The department has predicted that most of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, and North Madhya Pradesh would continue to experience cold wave conditions, possibly intensifying into severe cold wave conditions.
