The Health department Delhi reported 7 deaths from Covid-19 for the second day in a row over the past 24 hours, it said in a bulletin on Thursday. The national capital also recorded seven fatalities on Wednesday, the most so far this year.
Additionally, 865 new Covid-19 infections were reported in the national capital over the past 24 hours, down somewhat from the 1,040 cases on Wednesday, according to the advisory. With the additional cases and fatalities, the total number of cases in the national capital increased to 20,37,061 and the death toll reached 26,620. The bulletin also states that 1,287 people recovered from the infection, while 5,117 samples were tested for Covid-19 throughout the course of the last 24 hours.
However, within the past 24 hours, the city’s positivity rate fell to 16.90% from 21.16%. The bulletin added that there were 4,708 active cases in the national capital and that 305 of those individuals were receiving hospital treatment at the time.
