Sensex Highlights today i.e On Monday Benchmark indices rose on Monday, boosted by a positive global sentiment. The S&P BSE Sensex rose 367 points, or 0.56 percent, to close at 66,528. Meanwhile, the Nifty50 recaptured the 19,750 level, finishing at 19,754 levels, up 108 points or 0.55 percent.
The biggest gainers on the 30-pack index were NTPC, Power Grid, Tata Steel, TCS, Tech M, JSW Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Wipro, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, HCL Tech, and IndusInd Bank, which gained between 1% and 4%. Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance, HUL, Bharti Airtel, ITC, and Asian Paints were the top laggards, falling up to 1.2%.
The broader markets outperformed the frontline indices, with the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices rising 0.86 and 1.31 percent, respectively. The Nifty Metal index gained 1.58 percent, while the Nifty IT index gained 1.44 percent. The Nifty FMCG index, on the other hand, fell 0.67 percent. On the BSE, more than 300 equities, including Siemens, MRF, Wonderla Holidays, PSP Projects, Grasim Industries, Texmaco Rail & Engineering, Larsen & Toubro, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Hindustan Aeronautics, Godfrey Phillips, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories and DLF, reached 52-week highs.
