Ponniyin Selvan 2 IMDb Rating is 9.1 out of 10. Synopsis of PS2 is Arulmozhi Varman starts his trek to become Rajaraja I, the greatest emperor of south India’s mediaeval Chola empire. The main cast of Ponniyin Selvan Part One returns for the sequel. Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, and Trisha take the forefront and play major roles. Only the screen time here varies depending on the story.
The second part is essentially an emotional drama in which each character goes through an arc, bringing them in or out of danger. For the same reason, the fun quotient is lower. Vikram masterfully portrays the grief and suffering of a royal prince who feels deceived in love in his role. Among all the actors, Aishwarya Rai plays the more prominent role in the second film. She has an ethereal appearance and effectively expresses the moral quandary. She also plays an old woman in a dual role and does well in it.
The much-anticipated Vikram and Aishwarya Rai confrontation sequences have turned out well, capturing all of the tension and pain nicely. Karthi’s character isn’t as entertaining as it was in Part 1. His character has greater drama, and he approaches the process clinically. Jayam Ravi shines in a few dramatic scenes that highlight his character. Finally, Trisha is good, but she doesn’t have as many major moments as she did in the first film.
