For the next two to three days, Kerala and Tamil Nadu are expected to have a lot of rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Isolated, heavy rainfall is expected over Kerala on December 16 and 17, and over south Tamil Nadu from December 15 to 19.
According to IMD Chennai, on December 16, there is a chance of heavy to very heavy rain in one or two locations over the districts of Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukkottai, and Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu; on the same day, there is a chance of heavy rain in one or more locations over Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, and Karaikal area in Tamil Nadu.
On December 17, it is expected to rain heavily to very heavily in one or more locations over Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Kanyakumari, and Karaikal area; in Villupuram, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Sivaganga, Tiruchirappalli, Preambular, Ariyalur, Kallakurichi, Karur, Theni, and Dindigul districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, heavy rain is forecast in one or two locations.
Heavy rain is expected to fall in one or more locations on December 18 over the Tamil Nadu districts of Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Pudukkottai, and Thanjavur; on December 19, heavy rain is predicted in one or more locations over the same districts.
