Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Vishnu Deo Sai announced on Monday that there will be a new and old face in the state cabinet when it is extended. Upon his return from New Delhi, he was speaking with reporters at the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur. On December 13, Sai was sworn in as the state’s chief minister.
Yesterday night, I traveled to Delhi. There, I had conversations with JP Nadda, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Very soon, the state cabinet will grow, according to Sai. “It will be a mix bag of old and new faces,” the chief minister responded when asked about the introduction of new members to the cabinet.
The cabinet extension will take some time, but it will be completed soon. Regarding the BJP’s pledge to acquire 21 quintals of paddy per acre at a cost of Rs 3,100 per quintal, Sai stated that the commitment made under the “Modi ki Guarantee”—a reference to his party’s election manifesto—will be realized.
