Asian Boxing Champion Kaur Singh Passes Away

Asian boxing champion Kaur Singh, who competed in an exhibition battle against Muhammad Ali, passed away on Thursday in a Kurukshetra, Haryana, hospital. He was 74 years old and receiving care for several medical issues. He had been settling in his native town of Khanal Khurd in the Sangrur region of Punjab after his retirement from the Indian Army.

In international events, including the 1982 Asian Games, Singh won six gold medals. His four-round exhibition fight with boxing icon Muhammad Ali on January 27, 1980, in Delhi stands out as one of his most memorable contests.
