Amul (Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has announced a quick increase in the price of fresh milk of up to Rs 3 per litre. According to a statement released on Thursday, the price of Amul Gold will now cost Rs 66 per litre, Amul Taaza Rs 54 per 1 litre, Amul cow milk Rs 56 per litre, and Amul A2 buffalo milk Rs 70 per litre.
Due to an increase in the overall cost of operation and milk production, this price rise is being implemented. The cost of feeding cattle alone has grown by around 20% over the previous year. Our member unions have also raised farmers’ prices by about 8% to 9% compared to last year, taking into account the rise in input costs, it had stated.
In the month of December Mother Dairy raised the price of milk by Rs. 2 per litre in Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region). Amul last increased its prices by Rs. 2 per litre in October.
